15 bands – Lumi, Inborn, Angel At My Table, FunkyP, Eternal Tango, Pendulum, Biffy Clyro, Paramore, Ghinzu, Jan Delay, Deftones, Gossip, Kasabian, 30 Seconds To Mars and The Prodigy – 13 hours of non-stop live music, 18.000 fans and 30 degrees in the shade. Vampire Weekend were 2008’s big pop discovery. With their New York rock spiced up with African ingredients, they turned the music business upside down from the moment they released their first, eponymous album. As the Foo Fighters are taking a break from their grueling tour schedule, drummer Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders are on the road with their second album ‘Red Light Fever’. Enlisting the aid from Elliot Easton of The Cars, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, and Hawkins’ best friend Dave Grohl, the rock band is currently unveiling their latest creations at some major festivals throughout Europe. I had the chance to see them perform here in Southampton at a warm-up show and took a few pictures…
