Frontman Gary Lightbody made sure the Rockhal lived up to its name.

Alternative rock band “Snow Patrol” played the Rockhal in Luxembourg yesterday night on behalf of their “Take back the Cities” tour. Hits like “Run” and “Chasing Cars” brought mainstream success to the boys from Glasgow and thus the vibes in the 3500 people strong audience were just great. All in all, the band delivered a solid rock performance without any highs or lows. Enjoy the photos!

This is the photo I took for Yves’ beauty contest on photoshoot.lu. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the actual shoot/idea because of technical difficulties and couldn’t find another model until hours before the deadline. This was a totally spontaneous and stressful session – no make-up artist, no hair styling, one pose and one hour to get it all done. Again thanks a lot Caroline for taking the model’s place in such a short notice!

DJ Bob Sinclar (“Love Generation”, “World, Hold On”, “Sound of Freedom”, “Rock this Party”, “LaLa Song”) rocked the turntables yesterday evening at the marquee at the Bouillon in Luxembourg City in front of a quite small but energetic crowd of 500 people. He’s currently touring with MC Big Ali to promote his new album “Born in 69″.

Yesterday was the 14th edition of the Blues ‘n Jazz Rallye in Luxembourg City, organized by the Luxembourg City Tourist Office. Over the years, the event has become a place to be – even for those who can’t do anything with music, transforming the Grund and Clausen into a “global village”, packed with about 20.000 good mooded people from all ages. This year, 63 bands grooved from 7 pm till late on 37 different stages, bars and restaurants.

Every year, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office organizes the biggest free open-air music festival in the heart of the city, providing two stages for the best Luxembourgish acts and, later in the evening, inviting legendary international rock bands to entertain the young and old, locals and tourists. Yesterday, Ray Wilson and the Simple Minds headlined the 19th edition of the “Rock um Knuedler“. As the weather was great, some 15.000 people assembled at the “Place Guillaume II” to enjoy the sun and listen to heavy guitar melodies. Here are some impressions of last night.
